Background

Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB) is a State Corporation established by the Engineering Technology Act Cap 530A.The Act makes provision for regulation, practice and set standards of engineering technologists and technicians in Kenya.since inception in 2016,the Board was domiciled in the Ministry of Education.Executive Order 1 of 2023 transferred KETRB to the Ministry of Roads and Transport,State Department for Roads.The inaugural Board of directors was appointed in 2016 and served for a period of three years up to November 2019. Upon expiry of the term of the Board of directors in 2019,the current board of directors was appoointed in June 2023.KETRB'S establishment was driven by the increasing demand for qualified engineering technologists and technicians to support Kenya's developement goals, including the Kenya Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).As infrastructure development, industrialization and technological advancement become cornerstones of Kenya's socio economic transformation, KETRB's role has grown increasingly significant in ensuring that professional ethics and standards are adhered to by engineering technologists and technicians.
